We were climbing back into our car after a coffee stop on a Saturday morning in February and we looked up to find a simple joy above us! The blue sky and trees provided a frame for this gentle lady who stands vigilant in this little mountain town in Colorado. She stands ready....despite the freezing weather...with the scales of justice in her left hand, the sword in her right. Some say she symbolizes the fair and equal administration of the law....I say, she stands her vigil outside my favorite little candy store to remind me of the "weight" of my candy buying decisions. No matter what she symbolizes....she is a simple joy to be found on a Saturday morning mountain drive!
