Scatter sunshine...

The way to happiness: Live simply, expect little, give much. Fill your life with love. Scatter sunshine.
Norman Vincent Peale

Simple joy lines the sidewalk outside my backdoor. Simple joy....shouting in shades of orange, reminding me just how beautiful life is. Flowers line my path...sunshine lights my day. Whistling redbirds and chattering orioles and the soulful sounds of turtle doves serenade me as I glide slowly in the warmth of an early spring afternoon.....bare feet grazing chilly crumbling bricks that pave the path from garden to house. A sun kissed bed of tulips, most past their prime, wave slowly in the mild spring breeze ...smiling in bursts of colors for my camera. I sit surrounded by joy.... bathed in sunshine....in a sanctuary created by loving hands as an antidote for a job that tries it's best to beat me down. As I turn my face to the sun, I let the sunshine deep into my soul.....and am reminded again that it is the little things in life...the simple joys in life....that give us our song to sing. It is the simple joys in life that remind us of what is important...and what isn't. It's the simple joys in life.....chocolate flavored kisses and sticky hugs ..... a whispered "I love you more" just before sleep....spring flowers shouting in colors.......coming home and knowing it's where I belong....it is the simple joys in life that matters most! May I never lose sight of that.
