Pumpkin Daze

Bittersweet October.
The mellow, messy, leaf-kicking, perfect pause
between the opposing miseries of summer and winter.
~Carol Bishop Hipps
Pumpkin daze are here! Cool, crisp mornings just made for wool socks and steaming coffee. Short, chilly evenings with windows open and sweatshirts on. Sweet apple cider for sipping and honey crisp apples for crunching. Pumpkins and scarecrows now stand in the yards. Squeezed between the football games and soccer matches and dance lessons and cub scout meetings are outings to the local pumpkin patches and apple orchards...mouth watering trips filled with the taste of cold raspberry apple cider and warm apple donuts! Weekends just made for hay rack rides and scary haunted forests and Grandpa's chili that warms you from the inside out! These are the mellow messy days of fall.....days that glow with family and fun and burst with color.....and joy!

you descibed it well. I love fall and all it brings even the work. I wish I could have joined you under that pine with all those stain glass butterflies. Peace
