On a sunny Sunday afternoon, yet another drive around a local lake filled us with joy....and made us laugh out loud! Blue skies, tiny blades of spring green mixed in the browns of winter...and a curious chubby squirrel convinced us our souls are indeed alive! This was a deceptively dreamy day....window down weather, with the scent of spring in the air. A day for walking and listening...and taking the time to kneel in the dirt and search among the old leaves for the crocus blades that grow there. A day filled with the sounds of returning snow geese and pesky gulls....and the musical sounds of water...yes, thawed water..lapping the rocks on the banks of the lake. A day for fooling ourselves...and the local squirrels...into thinking spring has arrived. A day for chasing away blues...and filling your life with laughter....and joy. A simple joy of a day that brings hope to your heart...and reminds you what waits....just below the brown of winter.
