Winter pelicans in flight...what a joy to watch, and a challenge to photograph. No matter how quietly I walk toward them, they're off to a safe zone just out of reach of my Olympus 10x zoom. They have a gracefulness in flight that lets you pick them out from a distance....they glide and dip and soar and dive, and land in a second, with an arrogant manor that makes me laugh. We should all have that confidence, that "attitude" about us in our daily glides through life.....let the winds bring what they may, the pelicans own their day and you know it, just by watching them in flight. Simple joy, found on the wings of winter.
