Things Built To Last

Simple joy can be found in some very unusual places. Early this morning, with a cup of coffee and the sun warming my face, I heard a song that touched me. As I listened to the lyrics, my gaze wandered around the yard and landed on this sight.....and my heart wandered around my life, in search of my own "things built to last". I find I've been blessed with more than my share! Such simple advice from this talented group of musicians, may we all let their words find a way to our hearts...in this disposable, quick fix world, may we find the desire to look for the things built to last in our lives.

Built To Last

He said, “Here’s to the makers of things built to last
Like church bells and bridges, and baseball on grass
Like Ferguson tractors and Lucchese boots
My daddy’s old tools I still use
The pledge of allegiance, the stars and the stripes,
The words in the Bible, the sun in the sky
And here’s to the twinkle in old married eyes
Still there after fifty years past
Here’s to the makers of things built to last"

Great lyrics! I just heard that they're coming to Coyote Willy's in Lincoln on June 2. May have to catch that one!

Don't the green lawns & flowers just warm your heart? So glad to see some color at long last.
