Ordinary days....

And while it takes courage to achieve greatness, it takes more courage to find fulfillment in being ordinary.......Marilyn Thomsen
Time well wasted on this day, in pursuit of being ordinary! This was a sleep a little later...grab an extra cup of coffee...find the oldies music kind of morning......just perfect for worrying less about how to fill the day, and spending more time doing the filling! A donut kind of day we stuffed with simple joy....and the lessons it offers in life. A day that reminded us that the sweetest things in life are found in the ordinary....the taste of handmade chocolates, shared in the sunlight on a late March day...singing along to our song from long ago.....the sight of a speckled stuffed giraffe with his arm around a tiny pink twin, waiting patiently in a butter yellow room full of love for a baby girl to make them her own. A sun kissed day with breathtaking views and spicy food and babbling mountain streams and the funniest herd of deer standing unafraid, dangerously close to a busy road, turning a cynical eye to the strangers that stopped to look...and take pictures! A day for remembering that a great life is a life blessed with the opportunity to work hard and love fully, the chance to know pain...and great joy, the reminder that fulfillment can be found in stepping away from the herd and finding our own road to travel. (I don't think those deer have learned that lesson yet!) I am so blessed to live an ordinary life!

Beautifully said. I am also thankful for an Ordinary life as the stress that the others have to achieve greatness is far too much of a price. We have whitetail deer that come right up to the house to munch on my hostas and tomato plants. I have started to use bird netting as it is rather transparent but still protects the unsuspecting plant from the Rats on Hooves. I gave them that name when they ate my tomatoes. Peace
