Spring days.....

Spring shows what God can do with a drab and dirty world.
Virgil A. Kraf
A day best called astonishing. A day that brings me face to face with the goodness in life. A spring day just full of sounds and sights and pleasures. Sounds of bats on balls and colors shrieking against the drabness of winter like little voices in a kindergarten classroom. A spring day filled with yapping little robins...full stomachs and shiny coats from an abundance of earthworms from heavy spring rains. A sunny day blown in across the prairie with the sun warming our heads....and tempting three little children to beg to take off their shoes just for a moment and wiggle their toes in the greenness of the grass they're running through. A day for seeing the future in the tiny green buds on the autumn blaze maple tree...in the tiny red buds on the redbud tree...in the bulging almost blooms amongst the tulip leaves. A day for wasting in the company of three little sojourners...kites in hands, in hot pursuit of a swing set, some spring flowers and the belief that days like this should find us all tired, happy and smelling like dirt! What greater simple joy in life than a spring day well wasted with Grandma?!

Another good one. I loved the way you described the colors shrieking aginist the drabness of winter like little voices in a kindergarten classroom. Sounds like Grandma had the most fun wasting time with Grandchildren.
Peace be with you.
