Endless hope

Some see a hopeless end, while others see an endless hope.

Outside my back door grows joy....pure, untouched by sadness... joy. Blooming joy that stands bold...and shivering...in early May. Despite 30 something degree nights...and cold, rainy sunless days...hope takes hold...and paints the world in joyful colors. Hope, in brilliant purple, stands glorious on this blustery spring day, with stories to tell when we stop to listen. Stories of survival and courage and patience and endless hope. We did not plant this simple joy, nor plan it's spring appearance. Perhaps it was carried from a previous home by our resident squirrel and hidden away for late winter lunch? But what a glorious surprise on a day when spring seems so far out of reach....what a reminder that no matter how gray the day, no matter how dark the night, no matter how long the wait...hope will spring up....hope will show us the way!
