Winter treasure...

We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.
Thornton Wilder
Outside my window, tiny treasures dance on the tips of green branches on the colorless days of December....and I am reminded again of what matters in life. Sipping rich, holiday blend coffee and wrapped in the comfort of a vintage quilt, I rock away my morning laughing at the joy I find there. A cluster of comedians, they nudge and jostle and jockey for position at the lip of a seemingly endless "cup" of food.....shifting soundlessly in one large swoop as the neighborhood squirrel leaps for his share..then buzzing him, one by one, like Kamikaze pilots, determined to reclaim their position in the food chain, undeterred by bitter north winds or accumulating snow. A pleasant escape from the maddening rush ....a quiet morning spent surrounded by the simple joys of life. Should you need a break from the craziness in your life...a second rocker sits empty and the coffee's always on! Happy Holidays!

I am fortunate that I don't have a lot of craziness in my life but I would love to come and share your view:) Happy New Year to you and look forward to your 2009 posts.

Put the coffee on and save that other rocker for me. I will be right there. However, it might just be mind travel. Love the scene and always your uplifting words. Peace
