Beautiful...

Anything one does every day is important and imposing
and anywhere one lives is interesting and beautiful.
Gertrude Stein

A frosted gray February day that  I expected to be ordinary....proved to be anything but!  A group of friends...a band of well wishers...cheering a friend on the rest of her journey...celebrating a job well done! A good celebration....a great farewell!   May the  rest of your days be filled with adventure and love and joy, Donna.....know that your efforts have been noticed...and that you have made a difference.  You will be remembered.

A little jealous and more than a little sad....I returned to what seemed like a slow, dreary afternoon.  I'm blessed to have found work that is much more than a job, but sometimes colored with the usual workplace politics.    It took a miracle to open my eyes...to remind me just how lucky I am.    By chance...or by choice....I was reminded  by a father with tears in his eyes, holding the 9# 10oz dream that he'd chased for years.    Reminded by a father...allowing me to play a tiny little part in a miracle that some days I take for granted.  Reminded by a father that laughed and cried and hugged and laughed  and cried again.  Reminded with some beautiful words from him, telling me  how he could tell this was "much more than a job for me and it showed".    If only he knew how much I needed to be reminded of that.....to be reminded of the beauty that fills my life....work and home.  What an extraordinary afternoon this was.....what an extraordinary man that was...and what good advice he gave me without even knowing it.  Let me savor the moments of my life...even the crazy, busy ones....enjoy them, be "in" them....live them.  And Let me have many, many more days to do just that.

My thanks too for the kind words--the knowledge inside that you DO make a difference, and that is why it is not only a job, but a calling!
