The more it snows......

The more it snows

The more it goes

The more it goes

On snowing.
A.A. Milne

Snowy winter days.  Warm your toes, stay inside, drink hot chocolate winter days.  Read a good book, baking cookies and burning candles kind of days. Winnie the Pooh in Grandma's lap kind of day.  I can still hear my mother's voice as she'd read this little poem to my daughter, in her sing song voice, with a hearty laugh at the end.  I'm sure I'd miss winter if I moved away from it.  I'd probably find myself longing for these long afternoons with no where to go but home, nothing to do but read or take a nap.   I'd probably even go so far as to wish for a little snow to cover the drabness of mid winter...or maybe even long for that little slice of heaven we've come to know here as a snow day.  I'd have to give away my coats and pack away my white fuzzy mittens.  I'd quickly forget how dangerous it is to drive in the stuff...and save a fortune on ice melt. I'd maybe even get a little tan on this winter white skin of mine.   It's tempting.  So. Tempting.  But then I think about how good it feels to zip up a thick, warm coat...lace up warm leather boots.  How toasty those mittens feel on my quick to freeze fingers.  How good the hot chocolate tastes when you drink it with little red nosed grand kids that have just come in from making snow angels.  I think about how that snow sparkles...it twinkles....in the sunlight at early  morning when it's fresh.  And how it looks like a thick, white blanket of pink at sunset.   I think about how funny it is to watch our little dog roll in it  and stick his nose in the deepest of it...what pure joy he finds in even a skiff of  snow.  I think about how good it feels to fasten my seat belt and turn on the radio and sip a little coffee and set out in Joe's truck for an adventure we call the morning drive to work....just the two of us, talking...laughing...making the most of a snowy morning together.  And I know I"m right where I belong.  So for at least  another month or so..it can go on snowing.  (tiddly pom)

I lived in Florida for a year and it felt very weird not having a winter! The changing of the seasons mark the passing of the years!!
Have a great day!
