Ripening....

You can't hide your true colours as you approach the autumn of your life.
Outside my window grow purple asters, brilliant in the autumn sun, a simple joy courtesy of Mother Nature (and some tender loving care from my backyard gardener)! And from them I gain another lesson in life...one that tells me that ripeness (in life and seasons) can be the richest gift of all.... that letting your true colors shine as you age ( whether it be gray hair, wrinkles or liver spots!) brings richness to your life...that it is sad to change, but good to ripen...and that choosing to wear purple proudly brings peace to your soul and joy to those around you. Today.....with the sun reflecting off the gray in my hair, I choose purple!
